Is This Seat Taken? playfully explores the quirks of personal space and social dynamics. In real life, we rarely speak up about our personal space. Maybe it’s the person wearing a little too much cologne on the bus that makes you queasy, or the chatterbox beside you when all you want is some peace and quiet.

These small discomforts are often left unspoken, but in this game they are brought to the surface in the most charming way. Each character doesn’t shy away from expressing their likes and dislikes, whether it’s needing the window seat, avoiding strong smells, or craving company. What we silently endure in everyday life becomes a playful puzzle here, turning the hidden rules of personal space into something visible, lighthearted, and surprisingly relatable.

In each level, you will be arranging cute geometric shape characters in seating layouts according to their quirks, like wanting a window seat, seating beside a loved one, finding some alone time, hating noise, not being seated near someone who is wearing a cologne or hasn’t had a shower yet etc. Just hover over a character to know their preferences and drag and drop onto the seating layout to complete a level.

How to Play

In Is This Seat Taken, there are five chapters and 5-6 levels per chapter. Here’s how you can start solving each puzzle in the first chapter:

1. Hover your mouse cursor over each character to know their likes and dislikes and seating preferences.

2. Drag and drop a character into the right seat while considering both their own seating preferences and the comfort and space of the others around them. If a character wants to be alone, make sure there aren’t any other seated beside them. If some characters wear cologne, don’t place them near those that do not like strong smells.

3. When you drop certain characters to a seat, pay attention to the highlighted seats around them. These highlighted seats mark their range. Characters that do not like bad or strong smells, prefer sitting alone, haven’t had a shower, don’t like kids around them, need silence and peace will display their range through highlighted seats.

4. In some levels, certain characters from earlier levels will stay in their seats. Place the new characters while respecting the old ones’ preferences. You may even need to move the earlier characters to new spots to make room.

5. When every character is seated happily, a thumbs-up icon will appear in the lower-right corner. Click the confirm button to move on to the next level. But if a thumbs-down icon appears, don’t worry – it just means someone isn’t comfy yet, so try shuffling things around until everyone’s happy. Click on the thumbs down icon and you will see speech bubbles above characters that were not placed on the right spots.

Drag and drop James in the vehicle. Press the Confirm button on the lower-right corner of the screen only when you see a thumbs up icon above it. If there’s a thumbs down icon, it means the puzzle isn’t complete.
